摘要: Cabbage is the most common leafy vegetable in Croatia, where due to its climatic diversity it can be grown all year round. Cabbage is mainly grown in conventional system but many consumers perceive that organically grown foods are of better quality, healthier and more nutritious than conventionally grown foods. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of different types of fertilization on yield characteristics of cabbage and farming success with reduced application of mineral and organic fertilizers. Seedlings of late cabbage cultivar ‘Satelit’were planted in soil plots fertilized with mineral, mineral-organic or organic fertilizers at two locations: Križevci (continental region) and Sinj (Mediterranean hinterland). The field trial was established at randomized block design with four replications and with 30plants per treatment. Cabbage harvested in Sinj had greater heads height (16.76 cm), width (16.35 cm) and a longer stem inside the heads (6.40 cm) than those in Krizevci, where the following values were measured: head height 14.22 cm, head width 13.61 cm and stem inside the head 4.64 cm. Cabbage on the location Sinj achieved significantly higher head weight (1.78 kg) and yield (50.77 t ha-1) than cabbage in Krizevci (0.88 kg; 24.99 t ha-1). Applied fertilizers had no effect on those characteristics. Type of fertilization had no significant effect on the parameters of the head and yield, while the choice of location was crucial for cabbage growing in the summer-autumn season. Data collected in this experiment showed us that Sinj is better location for growing cabbage ‘Satelit’.
