In< br/> a small book, the authors have tackled an enormous topic< br/> which they have packaged sensibly and knowledgeably. Apart< br/> from the introductory chapter which details very brielly the< br/> geology, climate, vegetation and biodiversity of Africa. six< br/> subsequent chapters describe the major African biomes.< br/> namely savanna, desert, forest, mountain, fynbos, fresh water< br/> and marine. The closing chapter discusses conservation and< br/> contemporary problems such as desertification.
