Legal Modificatory Provisions and Thematic Relations

摘要: This paper describes a system for the semantic annotation of legal texts. In particular, it deals with “modificatory provisions”, ie instructions, present in a legal text, to modify previous laws, by inserting, deleting or replacing parts of the older text. The paper also reports the results on a preliminary study about the use of thematic relations in marking the role of the relevant components of the modificatory provision under analysis.
