摘要: Nickel-based superalloy, Inconel 718 is widely used in aircraft industry due to its exceptional thermal resistant retaining mechanical properties up to 700 C. On the other hand, it is very difficult to machine, due to their high shear strength, work hardening tendency, highly abrasive carbide particles, tendency to weld and form build-up edge and low thermal conductivity. This paper presents a hybrid optimization approach for determination of the optimum turning process parameters which minimize the Surface Roughness and Tool flank wear together in CNC High Speed turning of Inconel 718 nickel based super alloy using Sandvik make uncoated tungsten carbide cutting tool SNMG 120408 H13A.
