Antiinflammatory activity of structuraly related natural flavonoids.

摘要: A study was conduced to investigate the effect of two types of bioactive flavonoids, structurally related, isolated from Z. punctata on cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1). Chalcone was more active than flavone on COX-2. The cytoprotective and antioxidant activity demonstrated for both structurally related flavonoids may contribute to the antiinflammatory effect.
