The bud enzymes of beech (Fagus sylvatica L.). Genetic distribution and analysis of polymorphism in several French populations.

摘要: Using material from Denmark (controlled crosses) and France, the genetics of two peroxidase loci (2 and 3 alleles each) and one glutamate-oxaloacetate transaminase locus (2 alleles) were studied using starch gel electrophoresis. Polymorphism of the two peroxidases was investigated in 11 southern and 2 northern French populations. The variation of allelic frequencies demonstrated the influence of climate: in the first locus variation appeared to be related to the moisture regime, whereas in the second it was related to the temperature regime.
