摘要: Finally, fusion between aggregates occurs on contact. The probability of fusion depends on the energy barrier that builds up when two aggregates are close to contact. Adhesions also mature upon contact during the first hours of the experiment. After successful fusion of two spheroids, compaction occurs within the new aggregate. The model for the fusion process is an extension of the classical Smoluchowski theory [3], but it also takes into account the distribution of cells in the aggregates and growth. We therefore build a mixed model with discrete and continuous components (Supplementary Fig. 3A)[4].
