摘要: In recent years, there has been a surge in public awareness of and attention to the impact of concussion in children and adolescents. As the editors of this book point out, this increase in public interest in concussions has likely been spurred by sports-related injury and the understanding that athletes should be removed from play after a concussion for further evaluation and to be cleared for return to play. However, within pediatrics, there continues to be confusion, lack of information, vagueness in terminology, and misunderstanding of how concussions should be handled by practitioners, sports-related personnel, and parents.
