摘要: In this paper, we develop a mathematical model for optimizing the processing rates at each of the Flexible Machining System (FMS) work centers so as to minimize the cost per unit time while achieving a prescribed output rate. The feature addressed here is that parts may make repeated visits to a given work station for different operations, each operation having its own processing rate and possibly employing distinct tools. Next, we use the model to study the performance of a particular FMS.
