摘要: Decoupling has become a buzz word signifying resource efficiency as a key strategy for creating a green economy, which in turn is considered by many to be one of the keys to sustainable socio-economic development. In this perspective it is important that we understand-the need for decoupling and its implications on a global scale-for developed as well as developing countries and the specific challenges and opportunities facing them1-the basis for defining the concept and designing metrics that can have universal applicability, recognizing the wide range of economic contexts, resource endowments, and human aspirations that characterize the global economy
