摘要: Egypt faces a huge problem concerning waste management, the complete lack of waste sorting awareness even at the household level hinders the recycling process. Most individual's behavior leads to food waste that ends up in the garbage adding to the dilemma of the recycling process. Moreover, on the scale of the open buffet food serving style of the wedding venues, tons of edible foods are disposed of daily while homeless people scavenge the garbage for something to eat. Accordingly, the aim of this work is to study the possibility of applying the Lean Six Sigma approach to improve the food waste management system at wedding venues with ballrooms and open buffet food serving style in Egypt. Additionally, such an approach will have the benefit of salvaging the edible food and delivering them to the deprived people.
