Modelling for the prediction of thermal damage in grinding

摘要: This thesis describes an investigation concerned with the development of a quantitative method to calculate grinding temperatures and predict the onset of workpiece thermal damage. For conventional plunge grinding operations the grinding zone temperature is calculated using heat transfer theory for stationary and moving heat source models that describe the physical interaction of the grinding wheel and the workpiece.
