摘要: This paper presents the recent energy scenario in the Islamic Republic of Iran, with an emphasis on utilization environmentally friendly energy resources in spite of very rich conventional sources of energy in Iran.The paper includes future scenario in the Iranian context, technology gaps and some critical issues involved in some renewable energy conversion systems like wind, hydro feeding power to the local grid. This is supported by relevant data based on the extensive field experience in some wind farms in India. The paper, besides being informative about energy prospects in Iran, it may also provide useful guidelines to energy planners in other Asian countries.
