Thymosin and thymosin-like preparations

摘要: In this paper we will review the chemical and biological properties of Thymosin fraction 5, Thymosin a,, a, and ẞ, and a number of other thymosin-like preparations isolated from the thymus gland. In addition to the direct effects of thymic hormones on the immune system, recent studies suggest that the endocrine thymus may also exert a homeostatic influence on the nervous system, particularly the neuroendocrine system.
