摘要: A few methods, materials, and techniques of repair on composite honeycomb sandwich structures after damage are investigated experimentally. The specimens are designed to simulate one-sided dig-out repair, one-sided bottom-added repair, and two-sided bonded-patch repair due to nonpenetrating and penetrating damage. The authors also present a rule of change for the stiffness and strength of a composite honeycomb sandwich before and after repair. In order to compare these results with those from experiments, the software NASTRAN was used in a 3D finite element stress analysis on the a typical nonpenetrating dig-out repair specimen. The results from both computation and experiment indicate good agreement. (Author)
