摘要: To identify the characteristics of human immunodeficiency virus type I (HIV-1) subtypes and their distribution in the urban area of Wuhan, the DNA fragments of the HIV-1 env and gag genes were amplified with nested PCR from the anticoagulated blood samples of 60 HIV-infected individuals in the city. The PCR products of the C2-V3 region of the env gene and parts of gag gene were sequenced directly, and the sequences and subtypes were analysed by using the GCG software. Among the 60 samples tested, 45 and 52 had env and gag gene sequences, respectively. Compared to the international reference strains of various HIV subtypes based on the env and gag gene sequences, 5 subtypes were finally identified through phylogenetic analysis.
