Structure and mesomorphic behavior of alkoxy-substituted bis(phthalocyaninato)lanthanide(III) complexes

摘要: The influence of the lanthanide ion and chain length on thermal properties bis[2,3,9,10,16,17,23,24-octakis(alkoxy)phthalocyaninato]lanthanide(III) complexes, denoted in following as [(CnH2n+1O)8Pc]2Ln, have been investigated. Two series complexes were considered:  a first which alkoxy was kept constant with different ions (Ln = Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu), namely, [(C12H25O)8Pc]2Ln, second bis(phthalocyaninato)erbium(III) double-deckers, [(CnH2n+1O)8Pc]2Er, lengths (n 4−18). All these metallomesogens exhibit hexagonal columnar mesophase (Colh) over wide temperature ranges. It found that transition temperatures not affected to great extent by they could be tuned proper choice length. orientational behavior [(C12H25O)8Pc]2Er contact substrate has also investigated scanning tunneling microscopy.
