摘要: Various cold agglutinins which react with sialic acid-dependent antigens of the red cell membrane have been described in human sera. Seven specificities defined to date: Pr [20], Gd [26], Sa [27], FI [28], Lud [29], Vo [33], and Li [35]. They are characterised as follows: antigen is completely destroyed by protease-treatment erythrocytes, whereas only partially degraded, Gd, FI, Vo, protease-resistant. The occurrence Pr, independent age; fully expressed on cells adults; present primarily erythrocytes newborns, but can also be found i adult cells. All these serological properties neuraminidase, thus confirming role neuraminic acid immunodominant component. characteristics summarised Tab. 12.1.
