摘要: Immunoelectrophoresis (IEP) was the first practical method that combined electrophoresis and -immunoprecipitation for identifying characterizing proteins within complex mixtures. Over years, IEP has been extended to include a variety of techniques and, as general name, applied virtually any technique involves antigen-antibody precipitin reaction proteins. Because diversity in technical details different versions, described here deals only with classic IEP. Although it requires some manual expertise, is versatile, relatively easy customize, economical no need expensive instrumentation.
