摘要: Clubbing was first described by Hippocrates more than 2.500 years ago. It may be seen alone or as part of an entity called hypertrophic osteoarthropathy which include periostitis, arthritis and sometimes thickening edema the skin around affected joints. Pulmonary diseases such cancer, abscess, empyema, bronchiectasis cystic fibrosis are major known to associate with osteoarthropathy. Digestive tract cyanogenic congenital heart disease well association. Many theories have attempted explain appearance this sign but few persisted. In article, we review characteristics, relation etiology basis pathophysiology particularly clubbing.
