摘要: ABSTRACT The newest methods for characterizing fracture toughness are presented, including both occurring by a brittle mode and ductile but essentially after large scale plasticity. Ductile is best characterized the R curve approach with J as driving force parameter. A new modified parameter developed Ernst has allowed to be correlated much larger amounts of crack extension helped eliminate some size geometry effects. Brittle can cleavage, however, scatter an apparent effect cause problems predicting transition behavior structures. statistical using three Weibull model offers method fracture.
