摘要: In order to test the aptitude of individuals Mytilus chilensis as biomonitors heavy metals pollution in seawater, several samples this mollusk together with surrounding seawater were collected along 170 km coastal area Beagle Channel (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina) 2005 and 2007. The study, performed seven locations strategically selected, involved determination Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb Zn seawaters mollusks by atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) calculation respective concentration factors (CFs). Obtained data standardized analyzed multivariate techniques establish differences between sampling sites periods. results will be shown bioaccumulation ability M. evaluated comparison obtained for species different geographical marine areas. A fully discussion on possibility employing background levels comparative purposes other waters world provided. possible harm derived from human consumption these also assessed.
