Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded cross sections were assessed using hematoxylin eosin (H&E), trichrome elastic stains well immunohistochemistry for CD34 α-smooth muscle actin. Results Intimal hyperplasia common vasculature. degree intimal hyperplasia, by intima/media ratio, significantly greater men than either their corresponding left women. None segments contained foam cells extracellular lipid deposits indicative atherosclerosis. Conclusions In injury-prone artery, but particularly severe men, correlating demographics HHS.
