摘要: There has been a recent resurgence of interest in therapeutic modalities using transcranial weak electrical stimulation through scalp electrodes, such as trans-cranial direct current (tDCS), means experimentally modify-ing and studying brain function possibly treating psychiatric conditions. A range electrotherapy paradigms have investigated, but no consistent method indicated for reporting reproducible “dosage.” Anecdotal reports, case studies, limited clinical trials with small numbers suggest that tDCS may be effective some patients depression, methods selecting the optimal parameters (“dosage”) are not clear, there is conclusive indication an treatment depression. Larger, controlled studies necessary to determine its safety efficacy setting. If can established it would represent particularly attractive option, relatively benign affordable modality. An accurate system describing essential so further yield evidence-based guidelines use stimulation. Development appropriate requires biophysical understanding how affects should include different applications. As any dosage guidelines, does supersede physician judgment on safety.
