摘要: The mean lifetimes, τ, and ratios, 3τ/1τ of rare gas (Xe, Kr, Ar, Ne) resonance levels, as determined experimentally and theoretically, are intercompared. A new relationship was found connecting τ and the Landé g factor, g: 1/τ = a − bg. For [Formula: see text]: a = 1.80, b = 1.26; for [Formula: see text]: a = 1.40, b = 0.94, in 109 sec−1 units. Unexplained deviations are revealed for Ne(3τ/1τ) and [Formula: see text].
