摘要: Smooth muscle isolated from the airways often responds to neurotransmitters, autacoids and excitatory drugs by contracting tonically. Maintained tone is an important determinant of airway diameter, resistance airflow untimately ventilation alveoli. In asthma, control diameter becomes deranged in part because mediators bronchoconstriction produce inappropriate contraction smooth muscle. It probably combination increased secretion mucous epithelium that restricts airways. Force constricts produced cells, study biochemical mechanisms which cells force subject this chapter. Understanding underlying release mediators, source response has consumed much effort researchers interested normal physiology pathophysiology Much known pharmacology, biophysics biochemistry contraction, reader referred earlier reviews other chapters volume for further information points view [1–4]. The aim chapter survey recent developments contractile proteins system regulation.
