摘要: Medical imaging often presents objects in three-dimensional (3D) form to provide better visual understanding. In contrast, histopathology is typically presented as two-dimensional (2D). Our objective was present the tumor dimensions 3D by creating a digital model of it and so demonstrate location histological slices within surgical soft tissue resection specimen. We developed novel method for modeling tongue squamous cell carcinoma using commonly available instruments. established our 3D-modeling recognizing solving challenges that concern selection direction slices. Additional steps standard handling included scanning specimen prior grossing carcinoma, which required only table scanner software. their solutions its introduce finished actual well histopathological sites printed form. provides create within. To knowledge, this first attempt margins form, whereas previously, 2D has been available. The creation does not call predetermined directions pathologist. addition, crucial initiative enhance oncological management. allows understanding margins, topography, orientation. It thus tool an improved postoperative assessment aids, example, discussion need additional surgery adjuvant therapy.
