DEATHS FROM EXERTIONAL MYOPATHY AT THE NATIONAL ZOOLOGICAL PARK FROM 1975 TO 1985

摘要: A retrospective study was conducted to determine the incidence of deaths from exertional myopathy (EM) in hoofstock collection at National Zoological Park (NZP) 1975 1985. The diagnosis EM based on history, clinical signs, clinicopathological findings, gross and microscopic lesions. Only bovids, cervids, equids were included study. Data derived medical pathological records NZP. There 10 cases during this period, but only seven directly attributable EM. Five occurred after immobilization.
