摘要: Recent advances have identified immune complexes containing nucleic acids as stimuli for toll-like receptors and inducers of type I interferon (IFN). While a similar mechanism may serve to amplify system activation production inflammatory mediators in vivo the context systemic autoimmune diseases, initial triggers autoimmunity not been defined. In this review, we describe category potential autoimmunity, endogenous retroelements, with particular focus on long interspersed nuclear elements (LINE-1, L1). Increased expression L1 transcripts or decreased degradation DNA RNA could provide potent an innate response, priming system, induction inflammation. Genomic genetic variations among individuals, sex-related differences regulation, environmental are mechanisms that might account increased expression. Induction IFN by L1-enriched through TLR-independent pathways represent first step complex series events leading disease.
