摘要: Konrad Gesner was the first author to group all meat-eating animals into one scientific category in his book Historiae animalium, 1551. He followed by C. Linnaeus 1758, who placed Order Ferae when he published tenth edition of Systema naturae, a classification system living organisms known at that time. This for carnivores later refined various authors. All original systems made particular use morphological similarities carnivore’s dentition describe relationships among species and between groups species. Gradually it became apparent ability eat meat resulting implications could not be used exclusively classify because bats insectivores would then also included, an error which appeared sixth Linnaeus’ naturae 1748.
