摘要: Ribosome inactivating proteins (RIPs) are a group of naturally occurring plant with RNA-N-glycosidases activity which depurinate rRNA at specific universally conserved position (i.e. cleavage N-glycosidic bond adenine 28S rRNA). These found in different parts plants, concentrations ranging from few micrograms to several hundred mg per 100 g tissues. RIPs exist two forms, type 1 having single polypeptide chain molecular mass approximately 30 kDa possessing N-glycosidase activity; and 2 or four chains 60 120 respectively showing lectin along moiety. Such biomolecules causing cytotoxicity being exploited for designing immunotoxins/hormonotoxins using heterobifunctional conjugates. carrier conjugates the can influence cellular trafficking inhibition protein synthesis. We witnessing novel plants that be utilised various therapeutical treatments cancers, AIDS other viral diseases present times.
