摘要: BACKGROUND Oral candidosis has emerged as an increasing problem in immunocompromised patients because oral cavity represents important port of entry for systemic fungal infections. METHODS The aim the present study was to investigate vitro antifungal activity 5 commercial mouthrinses containing chlorhexidine (CHX). Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC) against six species yeasts determined by a broth macrodilution method. kill-time at half concentration formulations also determined. RESULTS MFCs were achieved with each all organisms under test. However, significant differences MFC values found Ebur Os comparison Dentosan, Corsodyl and Plak out (p < 0.001). Kill-times Dentosan less than or equal 120 sec yeasts, except Torulopsis glabrata. Significant between Broxo Din only CONCLUSIONS These results suggest that CHX-containing may represent appropriate alternative conventional drugs management candidosis. Effectiveness preventing infections requires further vivo studies.
