摘要: Abstract Background/purpose In this in vitro study, we assessed the antifungal effect of mouth rinses containing chlorhexidine and thymol. Materials methods The fungistatic activities chlorhexidine- thymol-containing were by means minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) fungicidal activity was determined a time-kill assay. Results chlorhexidine-containing mouthwash able to kill all strains Candida albicans tropicalis shorter times compared mouthwash. Hexidine showed an MIC 1:32 for both species, whereas Listerine respectively MICs 1:8 1:16 C. . Conclusions Antimicrobial agents used study had good against two species. Mouth superior rinse. Both antimicrobial may be suggested use as topical agents.
