The coffin question: death and materiality in humanist funerals

摘要: In this article I explore the attitudes of humanist celebrants in England to presence coffin at funerals they conduct. For these celebrants, who are members British Humanist Association, is something that can disrupt integrity “the immanent frame.” Throughout course article, relate concern questions materiality and material culture, arguing, line with a growing number others human sciences, we cannot understand secular formations without attention its embodied dimensions.
