摘要: Purpose: The study goal was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a small dose propofol for prevention nausea vomiting following third molar extraction. Patients Methods: In prospective, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial, 90 women received placebo or at 2 different doses (0.25 mg/kg, 0.5 mg/kg) (n = 30 each) intravenously end surgery. A standard general anesthestic technique, including sevoflurane nitrous oxide in oxygen, employed throughout surgical procedure. Emetic episodes assessments were performed during 0 3 hours 24 after anesthesia. Results: rate patients experiencing emesis-free (no nausea, retching, vomiting) anesthesia 60% with placebo, 66% 0.25 mg/kg (P =.395), 90% =.001); corresponding 60%, 63% 0.5), 87% =.02) values compared placebo). No clinically serious adverse effects due drug observed any group. Conclusions: Prophylactic therapy (0.5 is effective preventing postoperative female undergoing extractions. © 2002 American Association Oral Maxillofacial Surgeons J Maxillofac Surg 60:1246-1249,
