摘要: Miniature inverted-repeat transposable elements (MITEs) are a particular type of defective class II present in genomes as high-copy-number populations small and highly homogeneous elements. While virtually all transposon families contain non-autonomous copies, only subset them have related MITE family. At it is not known which circumstances MITEs generated instead typical transposons. The ability to produce could be an exclusive characteristic transposases, structure certain elements, or the consequence constraints imposed by host on populations. We describe here new family pogo-like transposons from Medicago truncatula closely Arabidopsis Lemi1 element that we named MtLemi1. In contrast Lemi1, single-copy associated with hundreds Emigrant MITEs, MtLemi1 has attained >30 copies MITEs. This shows can adopt completely different strategies colonize genomes. comparison AtLemi1 reveals transposase-specific domains possible regulatory sequences linked
