摘要: Two-dimensional boudinage in a flattening type of bulk deformation, with equal layer-parallel extensions all directions, leads to the development roundish or polygonal outlines boudins plan-view. As combined experimental and theoretical studies show, chocolate tablet two sets mutually perpendicular boudin axes may form different ways. (1) Unequal extension matrix results one set fractures forming greatest principal stress matrix. Once these long narrow are formed, brittle layer becomes approximately parallel axis boudin. result second forms normal first set. (2) In lineated rocks anisotropy tensile strength sequential formation fractures, lineation. Depending on orientation lineation not be stresses (3) Boudins rectangular plan-view also when successive events unidirectional superposed another. Irrespective direction extensional strain rate matrix, generation likely axes.
