摘要: The growing accessibility of grey literature has drawn attention to a research product which is still little known: the doctoral thesis. present study analyses overall Spanish production theses during period 1977-2014, as recorded in TESEO database, focusing specifically on final 20 years this period. evolution described, well their distribution by subject and university. A comparison made with scientific data extracted from Web Science Scopus regarding growth, matter institutional distribution. An important correlation detected between scholarly output both databases. This grew stronger starting 2007, when growth pattern emerged that paralleled exponential reflected Scopus. As for institution, relevant changes occurred 1995-99 2010-14. Specifically, health sciences diminished 17,8% 12,3% In same interval, Complutense University lost its leading advantage theses, it was almost matched Barcelona. more progressive among universities also latter studied along WoS percentage high impact per institution. general rise / ratio observed frequently higher institutions greater production.
