摘要: The optimal conditions for the full C-6 oxidation of κ- and ι-carrageenans using (2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidinyl)oxy (TEMPO) in presence sodium hypochlorite bromide were assessed. fully oxidized products characterized by NMR spectroscopy. Partially also obtained analyzed chemical spectroscopical methods. antiviral activity carrageenans against herpes simplex virus HSV-1 HSV-2 determined plaque reduction assay, was not largely affected polysaccharides, but an increase detected partial oxidation. A specific overoxidation on C-2 3,6-anhydrogalactose moiety κ-carrageenan identified, solved experimentally rationalized through application molecular modeling.
