Areas cold, characterised relatively low air temperatures, high relative atmospheric humidity, significant tendency fog formation, fog-like cloud cover with occasional light rain, but otherwise exhibit extreme aridity owing lack precipitation. Fog great fluctuations temperature may render navigation loading difficult, so that these avoided wherever possible, although major sea routes do pass through them.
