摘要: Oceanographic observations made in May 1963 off the southern Oregon coast provided unique data for studying early stages of coastal upwelling. The offshore transport associated with upwelling was computed from changes distribution temperature and salinity, heat budget considerations, Ekman transport. Estimates water transported during 76-hour survey period ranged 4.4×109 to 8.8×109 g/cm. vertical velocities inferred displacement σt surfaces decreased 7.0×10−3 cm/sec inshore 0.2×10−3 at a distance 65 km shore.
