摘要: The Large Underground Xenon (LUX) collaboration has designed and constructed a dual-phase xenon detector, in order to conduct search for Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), leading dark matter candidate. goal of the LUX detector is clearly detect (or exclude) WIMPS with spin independent cross-section per nucleon 2×10-46cm2, equivalent ∼1event/100kg/month inner 100-kg fiducial volume (FV) 370-kg detector. overall background goals are set have <1 events characterized as possible WIMPs FV 300 days running.
