Conversion of Sulfur Dioxide and Carbon Disulfide to Elemental Sulfur under Plasma-Induced Conditions

摘要: CS2 and SO2 appear in industrial processes such as the Claus reaction; however, few studies have focused on both simultaneous reactions. In this study, conversion of into elemental sulfur proceeded efficiently, using a radio-frequency plasma-induced system. The main experimental parameters were follows:  feeding concentration SO2, discharge power (P), inlet CS2/SO2 ratio (R), system pressure at room temperature. conversions sensitive to either P or R. When was increased from 15 W 120 W, only 27.3% 66.8% [SO2] = 2% R 1, whereas apparently 26.5% 98.2% when 2 ([CS2] 4%). Interestingly, optimum operating condition observed reach larger for CS2, simultaneously.
