摘要: In a bid to enhance the integrity and health of selected network ecosystems effectively manage them in Sierra Leone, baseline assessment butterfly diversity two wetland Mamunta Mayosso Wildlife Santuary (MMWS) Leone River Estuary (SLRE) affected by different environmental stressors was undertaken as part Wetland Conservation Project (SLWCP). We hypothesised that affect communities wetlands higher stress lower an area. Sampling conducted via field identification wing patterns, flight mode, direct counts along transects charaxes trapping. A total 2300 individuals representing 95 species butterflies were recorded. Though evenly distributed at both sites, MMWS recorded highest richness abundance during seasons. This observation is reported be because high such mining, agriculture pollution from factories SLRE. The results further show made up mosaic vegetation patches support species. study also reveals anthropogenic activities have negative impact on diversity.
