摘要: Background White cell (WBC) reduction prior to storage of red (RBC) concentrates may reduce the incidence HLA alloimmunization and improve quality stored RBCs. Study design methods An integrated WBC-reduction filter system was tested after various RBC preparation procedures (from whole blood), influence filtration on RBCs during for 42 days investigated. Four additive protocols were used. Units prepared from conventional triple blood bags held 4 6 hours at 22 degrees C, then separated via a hard spin filtration, performed immediately (Group 1) or 18 hours' C 2). top-and-bottom collection 24 hours; centrifuged filtered (Groups 3 4, respectively, by holding time). WBC time analyzed. The impact pH, hemolysis rate, hemoglobin content, ATP, potassium glucose, lactate investigated weekly days. Results Filtration reduced mean count log10, 0.19 +/- 0.25 x 10(6), regardless method. Mean times differed significantly between groups longest Group 1. Besides pH values, which greater in all units, no major differences found unfiltered interval. Conclusion efficiency prestorage unaffected procedure. However, freshly bag without buffy-coat depletion unacceptable. No metabolic found.
