摘要: Abstract Whole blood is not usually collected close to the processing site, which results in a holding time between collection and processing. In some countries, limited 8 hours, after units are cooled, rendering them useless for platelet preparation. Other countries allow 24-hour ("overnight") ambient hold The impact of this on subsequent components will be reviewed article. addition, there various "in-process" times that further prolong before final component ready. Particularly, these in-process well defined poorly controlled, but can nevertheless affect biochemical functional characteristics components. Furthermore, current, non–evidence-based, guidelines have restricted length times. This article summarizes evidence fills gaps where lacking.
