摘要: Background: Considering the possibility of remaining bacteria in cavity or invading via microgaps, use antibacterial agents adhesive restoration may be beneficial. This study evaluated effect chlorhexidine on immediate and long-term shear bond strength adhesives with without agent to dentin. Materials Methods: In this vitro study, occlusal surfaces 80 intact human premolars were removed expose flat midcoronal The teeth assigned four groups. Two systems, Clearfil SE Bond (SE) Protect (PB) used according manufacturer’s instructions as control experimental groups, 2% was applied prior acidic primer two adhesives. Then, resin composite applied. Half specimens each group submitted test after 24 h thermocycling, other half water storage for 6 months thermocycling before testing. data analyzed using three-way analysis variance (ANOVA) t -test (a = 0.05). Results: Chlorhexidine application significantly decreased initial (BS) self-etch dentin ( P < There a significant reduction BS PB aging compared bonding However, there no difference between chlorhexidine-treated groups tested aging. showed lower than time periods Conclusion: capable diminishing loss these over time. considering negative BS, benefits associated cannot possibly used. Key Words: Antibacterial monomer, strength, chlorhexidine,
