摘要: In China, Bt-cotton varieties have been marketed since 1997 to help control attacks of some cotton pests, notably Helicoverpa armigera. It is estimated that currently grown on about 70% the total Chinese cotton-growing area. Most studies explained this broad distribution by specific advantages Bt-cotton, particularly reduction in pesticide use but has questioned recent papers, which also raised issue seed prices. our study, based datasets seldom used earlier analyses, we argue China influenced development variety market. adoption benefited from market facilitated a favorable legal framework mid-1990s. Yet, quality uncertainties and high prices threaten profitability continued as well A subsidy policy was launched 2007 rectify disorder market, effectiveness regulation measure debatable.
