摘要: Forest fuel management in the context of fire prevention generally induces heterogeneous spatial patterns vegetation. However, impact canopy structure on both wind flows and behavior is not well understood. Here, a coupled atmosphere wildfire model, HIGRAD/FIRETEC, was used to investigate effects treatment field typical Mediterranean pine ecosystem. First, treatment-induced winds were simulated with model. We observed that decreasing cover fraction velocity increased within treated zone. The variability when vegetation aggregated into larger clumps. Fire simulations indicated decrease intensity occurred after several meters propagation This significant below 25%, but negligible greater than 50%. also induced more inclination plume away from vertical. size tree clumps did show behavior. study preliminary investigation wind/fire interaction over various treatments, by using physically based It gives some practical considerations for discerning appropriate open perspectives further investigations.
