Case of metastatic carcinoma from end of the 8th–Early 9th century Slovakia

摘要: The first case of metastatic carcinoma ever detected in Slovakia comes from a Slavonic cemetery at Borovce, the district Piest'any, which is dated end 8th to middle 12th century AD. disease afflicted 50-60-year-old male, buried grave older phase inhumation (8th-early 9th AD). A number osteolytic metastases were found all bones skull and postcranial skeleton except for forearms, hands, lower legs, feet. They studied macroscopically by standard X-rays, scanning electron microscopy laser confocal microscopy. Analogous finds Central European countries also obtained. are discussed relation their chronology, shows tendency increasing occurrence culminating Middle Ages. Some demographic paleopathological characteristics burials Borovce provided.
